Senior Leadership
Naresh C. Batta, MS, RPIH
President and CEO
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for BATTA Environmental Associates, Inc., and Laboratory Director for BATTA Laboratories, Inc., Mr. Batta is responsible for establishing and managing the goals, directions and activities of the firm. Mr. Batta has over 35 years of diversified experience in the environmental field. He was appointed by the Governor of Delaware to the State's Board of Architects. He has an expert knowledge of federal and state environmental laws as they pertain to industry and public sector compliance.
Mr. Batta has developed BATTA from a one-man operation to a diverse business responsible for Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Analytical Laboratory and Geo-Environmental work. Under Mr. Batta's leadership the company has earned the "Project Safety Excellence Award" from DuPont Co. numerous times. In addition, he holds vast experience with Industrial Hygiene work, developing Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), asbestos and lead testing, water and air pollution sampling, and analysis in various locations throughout the United States. He has served as Treasurer for the Delaware Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
Mr. Batta has participated in several international environmental projects. He has represented the State of Delaware in the Environmental Technology Trade Mission to Bangkok. He presented a technical paper at the Science & Technology Conference in New Delhi, India, and participated in the City of Wilmington Trade Mission to Ningbo and Shanghai Provinces, People's Republic of China.
Mr. Batta was born in the Indian state of Punjab and holds undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Physics. He completed his Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1973.
Neeraj K. Batta, P.E.
Vice President
Mr. Batta is currently a Vice President for BATTA Environmental and President of BATTA Laboratories.
In a Business Development role he develops and directs the tactical and strategic growth objectives of each company. Through organic growth, regional growth, and teaming relationships, Mr. Batta's work is focused on ensuring that BATTA maintains its development as a premier environmental consulting, engineering, and management company.
As a Senior Project Manager and Professional Engineer, Mr. Batta is responsible for managing many of BATTA's projects. He ensures that the managers and scientific personnel of BATTA dedicate themselves to client focus and development of practical solutions. He is responsible for managing these and other high profile projects that include challenging budget and schedules. His managerial skills combined with attention to detail ensure successful project deliverables. He is a quick problem solver and has the skills to provide leadership and guidance through project challenges and barriers. Mr. Batta's client relationship skills and respect for client service are the basis for many of BATTA's repeat consulting business.
Mr. Batta arrived at BATTA with strong knowledge and experience in the areas of project management. Previously, he spent time working with Rohm and Haas Company in Philadelphia. While there, he was responsible for project management and design activities for multi-million dollar new chemical plants and existing plant retrofits in the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Batta received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2000.
Bo Li, PHD
Batta Laboratories Manager
As laboratory manager, Dr. Li is responsible for technical operations of the lab. This includes maintaining a quality control and quality assurance program to achieve and maintain laboratory accreditations and consistent high quality production. In addition, he provides technical advice and service to current and potential clients.
Dr. Li's responsibilities include Microscopy Manager and TEM analyst. As Microscopy Manager, Dr. Li is responsible for coordination of activities and supplies for the Asbestos Analysis and Chemistry Groups. This also includes managing the accreditation programs for NVLAP and AIHA and supervising chemists and microscopists. Dr. Li is also in the lead role of maintaining the EPA mandated QA/QC program for the laboratory. This includes managing BLI’s involvement in the “Round Robin Bulk Analysis” from NVLAP and the “PAT” program of AIHA.
Dr. Li is proficient in supervision, evaluating data, and interpreting of results and establishing the final trend analysis. In addition to BLI, he has managed accreditation programs for NVLAP AIHA, and NY ELAP including setting up QA/QC programs for asbestos labs. He also has 10+ years experience in training analytical technique for chemical and microscopial analysis.
Dr. Li received a doctoral degree in Geology from the University of Delaware in 2006.
Stephen C. Woronicak
Indoor Air Quality Group Manager
As IAQ Department Manager, Mr. Woronicak oversees all IAQ-related projects. He is responsible for the management, coordination, and field activities of all indoor air quality projects pertaining to bacteria, biological agents, dust, fungi and mold matter, temperature, humidity, noise, organic compounds, and other commonly found indoor contaminants.
Mr. Woronicak oversees IAQ surveys and then develops written reports incorporating statistical and graphical data from the surveys. Data is compared to applicable OSHA-PELs and ASHRAE recommended limits and ranges. The reports also include recommendations for mitigating IAQ contaminants. Mr. Woronicak is certified and experienced in the development of specifications for a Mold Abatement Project.
Mr. Woronicak manages IAQ projects for a variety of clients including banks, insurance adjusters, real estate agencies, homeowners, and schools. A partial list of clients includes Citibank, Citizens Bank, T. Franek, and Cecil County Public Schools.
Mr. Woronicak graduated with a degree in Geo-Environmental Science from Wilkes University in 1997.
Todd Zeisloft
Industrial Hygiene Group Manager
As Group Manager of Asbestos and Lead Services, Mr. Zeisloft is responsible for the management and oversight of Site Managers and Project Managers.
Daily activities include scheduling, client contact, coordination, specification and report writing and review, as well as assuring compliance with state & federal regulations, while maintaining budget constraints. He has intimate knowledge of all regional regulations pertaining to air pollution, asbestos, and lead issues as well as knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations. |
Mr. Zeisloft has coordinated Industrial Hygiene/Hazardous Materials Management projects in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware. These projects have included inspections, specification development, surveys, abatement monitoring for regulatory compliance, air monitoring and bulk sampling, and conducting meetings for hazardous material abatement projects. He has reviewed plans for improvements and conducted analyses of environmental impacts. He has taken the lead on preparing applications for regulatory agencies.
Recently Mr. Zeisloft has assumed responsibility for management of BATTA’s Southern projects (Kent/Sussex counties and points south). He maintains a frequent presence in BATTA’s Georgetown office and manages many of the Southern projects from this location.
Mr. Zeisloft has a Business Degree from the University of Delaware.
